Bhartan (Bart) Patel, Chairman
Dr. Patel joined Aavid Thermal Technologies ("ATTI"), the former parent of Aavid, in 1995 after its acquisition of Fluent, a leading developer and marketer of computational fluid dynamics software.
He became a director of ATTI in 1996 and CEO and Chairman of the Board of ATTI in 2000. In 1983, he had helped found Fluent as a subsidiary of Creare, Inc., and he served as Fluent's CEO until its sale to ANSYS, Inc.
With the sale of ATTI and Fluent having been completed in 2006, Dr. Patel now serves as Chairman of the Board of Aavid.

Brian A. Byrne, Chief Financial Officer
Mr. Byrne joined Aavid in April 2000 as its Chief Financial Officer. Prior to joining Aavid, Brian worked at Jabil Circuits, Inc. as an operations manager.
Before joining Jabil, Mr. Byrne served as the Vice President Business Development for Altron Incorporated (subsequently Sanmina Corporation) and its Massachusetts printed circuit assembly division for 3 years.
Prior to that, he spent 20 years at Compangnie Des Machines Bull in senior financial and executive positions, such as the General Division Manager of Bull Electronics.
Mr. Byrne graduated from Stonehill College with an Accounting degree and received his MBA from Bentley College. |

Sukhvinder Kang, Chief Technology Officer
Dr. Kang joined Aavid in 2000 as its Chief Technology Officer. Before joining Aavid, Mr. Kang was a senior engineer at IBM's server division which he joined in 1991.
He served on the IBM Academy of Technology's team on low temperature cooling of future computer systems. From 1985 to 1991 he was a R&D project engineer at Creare Inc.
Mr. Kang has over 20 years of industry experience developing unique thermo-fluid solutions encompassing electronics cooling, space, defense, nuclear and oil exploration applications.
He holds over 10 patents, has authored and co-authored over 20 technical papers and has lectured several seminars and professional courses in electronics cooling.
Mr. Kang graduated from the Indian Institute of Technology with a bachelor and masters in Mechanical Engineering.
He received his Ph. D in Heat Transfer from the University of Minnesota, Minneapolis. |
