Products / The Max Clip System™ / Interface Material
Interface material selection

Proper interface material selection is important when mounting devices with clips because the force provided by clips are lower than screws and bolts. For some interface materials lower force = reduced thermal performance. We recommend the use of phase change materials or grease with Max Clips because the thermal resistance is nearly independent of the mounting pressure. The graph below shows test data for several common materials.

Based on cost, performance and availability, Aavid recommends the High-Flow products. 22.9mm (0.9") rolls are available which can be cut to length and factory applied to most Max Clip shapes.
